Sunlit Future

SUNLIT FUTURE, nestled within the midst of the lush green industrial zone of Auroville, plays an important role in the economic development of Auroville. Architecturally, a 35-year old hexagonal framed structure, crafted from precast ferrocement in a triangular configuration, not only stands as a testament to longevity but also exemplifies a commitment to sustainable design principles.

At its core, the facility serves as a hub for an integrated service bringing high-quality renewable energy solutions. This campus primarily houses administration, storage and assembly areas. These Assembly spaces are designed to constantly adapt for product upgrades, fostering innovation and productivity. Specifically designed storage zones ensure the secure housing of materials, equipment, and resources essential for daily operations. The systematic organization of inward and outward storage optimizes accessibility, facilitating a streamlined workflow. The storage accommodates a diverse range of items, from small screws to large solar panels, enhancing overall functionality and contributing significantly to daily office’s operations.

The hexagonal framed structure, crafted in resource efficient triangular configuration in ferrocement, embodies sustainability through reduced cement and lightweight reinforcement.

Operating exclusively on solar energy, the entire structure contributes surplus energy to the grid for environmental responsibility. The incorporation of a rainwater harvesting system further enhances the facility’s green approach. This system captures rainwater for reuse and the rest to a percolation pit to replenish groundwater, reducing reliance on external water sources and showcasing a commitment to environmental responsibility.

At its essence, Sunlit Future goes beyond the conventional definition of architecture; it encompasses smart design, fosters economic growth, upholds a minimal carbon footprint, and underscores an unwavering dedication to being a self-sustainable building situated within the industrial zone of Auroville.
